Well, we sent out save the date cards with our engagement photo to announce our engagement. But we could always throw you an engagement party and let the invite be your announcement. (So fun!) You coul dalso just do engagement announcement cards. I'm sure stationary shops have standard ones.
Or if you want to get the word out sooner I guess an email would be ok. Just make sure whoever you send it to is on the wedding invite list.
